GROUND PREPARATION SERVICES
Not “PROPERLY PREPARING” the ground prior to any Hydroseeding, Broadcast (Dry) Seeding, Sod Installation project is one of the most common and major mistakes affecting the overall results, and success. Most seeds and sod require a fine textured, loose soil surface before installation, so the small roots of can penetrate and take hold. The extent of the ground preparation required depends upon your soil test results, ground conditions, and the method chosen (Hydroseeding, Broadcast (Dry) Seeding, Sod). You can have the finest product and best fertilizer, but poor ground preparation can lead to inadequate results.
“DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE TRUE VALUE OF GOOD AND PROPER GROUND PREPARATION”
OVERSEEDING: Requires removal of all debris (Leaves, Rocks, Branches), the existing lawn to be cut as short as possible, then power raked (Dethatched) to extract dead/decaying vegetation and loosen (Scarify) the soil and remove the extract dead/decaying vegetation. This makes room for the new seed and allows the new seed embryo’s small roots to take hold and grow deep. In order for the seed to germinate it must be in direct contact with the loosened soil.

In the simplest terms, is adding grass seed to an existing lawn without turning the soil to fill in bare spots, thicken turf, improve appearance, and enhance a lawn’s ability to fight insects and diseases.
HYDROSEEDING: Requires a bare loose soil surface of 2-4 inches, removal of all vegetation, rocks, debris. In order for the seed to germinate it must be in direct contact with the soil. The 2-4 inches of loose soil allows the new seed embryo’s small roots to take hold and grow deep. In order for the seed to germinate it must be in direct contact with the loosened soil. Not having 2-4 inches of a bare loose quality soil surface can lead to washout and poor germination.
SOD: Require a bare loose soil surface of 2-4 inches, removal of all vegetation, rocks, debris. In order for the sod to establish it must be in direct contact with the soil. The 2-4 inches of loose soil allows the sod’s small roots to take hold and grow deep. Not having 2-4 inches of a bare loose quality soil surface can lead to washout and poor germination.
We specialize in areas of less than one acre and those with limited and/or restricted accessibility, but have the capabilities of doing much larger areas Our services are designed to prepare the soil's surface to the requirements of whatever type of revegetation you are considering. We specialize in areas of less than one acre and those with limited and/or restricted access. We provide virtually all aspects of erosion and sediment control.
We can provide ground preparation services as follows:
